g. DESCRIPTION: Per the Reporting Party: Nitrogen oxide (NOX) released due to either an overload of the scrubber system or released due to entering the wrong scrubber system. The material released into the atmosphere. The release started at 0711 hours and was stopped at 0712 hours. The vapor that released was visible as a cloud (the color is unconfirmed). It is unknown at what rate the material was releasing or exactly how much was released in that 1 minute period pending further investigation. There were no injuries or evacuations associated with this event. The Santa Fe Springs Fire Department was notified via email by the reporting party but did not respond to the scene. The material that released into the atmosphere is unrecoverable. This facility is a precious metal recycling center and chemical plant
